Women in the Digital Era: Challenges and Opportunities

Women in the Digital Era: Challenges and Opportunities

Will the new ICT revolution that is ushering in the digital era change all that? Does the technology of the Digital Era have in it the critical characteristics needed to provide women, equal or better opportunities to participate in the mainstream activities and provide solutions to many of the current social, cultural and technological bottlenecks being faced by women of our society? Or the digital revolution, like any other technological revolutions of the past, yet another tool in the hands of the powerful, male dominated sections of society to increase the gender gap, to exploit women more and to perpetuate the gender bias in a society that we live in?

This international conference - Women in IT (WIT-2020) is being organised in an attempt to find answers to these questions. World's leading technologists, sociologists, policymakers, social activists, academicians, demographers, historians are expected to come together and deliberate over issues that are critical to all of us. If you have a strong opinion on any of these issues and have a strong urge to communicate this to the rest of the world, we invite you to participate in the conference by submitting papers and posters and proposals for tutorials and workshops and panel discussions.

The conference will take place from 10-13 December, 2020 at Annamalai University, Annamalai Nagar, Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu - 608 002, India.
