LINK Centre ICT Scholarship for 2020

The LINK Centre is offering an annual scholarship to prospective Honours-level students who wish to pursue a career in the field of ICT policy and regulation. Students in the fields of economics, law, engineering or multi-disciplinary areas such as international relations, development studies or public policy are invited to apply for 2020. One scholarship is available for the 2020 academic year. The student will be selected on the basis of merit and historically disadvantaged candidates, especially women, will be favourably regarded.

The student will receive a bursary that covers fees and residence or equivalent living expenses to cover a year of study at the Honours or equivalent level. During the course of the year the student will be required to conduct an internship at the Wits LINK Centre for a minimum of seven hours a week and at least two 3-day weeks during university breaks, and will be made an offer of employment to work as a Research Assistant at the Centre for one year following the successful completion of their Honours programme.

Applications including a letter of motivation, a detailed CV and a short description of the applicant's area of research interest, should be sent to [email protected] and should be submitted by 31 August 2020. The decision made will be final and no further correspondence will be entered into on this matter after this date.
