Schools use Technology to Battle Plagiarism

There is a growing problem of plagiarism in schools. With so many resources available to students, teachers cannot always catch copied material. But now some school districts are employing state of the art technology to put a stop to plagiarism. In the past, teachers would individually check papers, but that just was not getting the job done, so some districts decided to subscribe to an Internet service that does the checking for them. In some schools, when students finish a paper, they submit it to TurnItIn.com and it will check what they have typed against other students and any resources on the Web that have been pulled.
