A competition, organised by the National Universities Commission (NUC), has selected 'CollegePortal', a product by an indigenous company, Socketworks Limited, as management software for Nigerian Institutions of higher learning. CollegePortal won the contest among 17 contestants in a challenge to find a suitable national university management system. CollegePortal won after two days of exhaustive scrutiny, which entailed laboratory setups, tests and demos conducted by an independent review panel.
